Florida has a number of different types of injunctions, depending on the parties’ relationship and type of violence: Petition for Injunction for Protection Against Domestic, Repeat, Dating, Sexual Violence, or Stalking. Each type of injunction has specific requirements.
If you have been accused of domestic violence, or have been the victim of domestic violence, please do not hesitate to contact Law Office of Audrey Bear, P.A. as quickly as possible. Hearings are scheduled by the court very quickly after the Petition has been filed, and defending against the Injunction or fighting for the injunction takes time to prepare.
If you are found to have committed an act of violence, and an injunction is entered against you, there are numerous sanctions and consequences. All firearms and weapons must be surrendered. You may be granted limited time-sharing with the children, often supervised by a court appointed monitor or a family relative. A parent with an Injunction cannot visit the other parent’s home, and picking up and dropping off children is on neutral territory. Often an arrest also occurs, and that can jeopardize your employment.
If you find that you require an Injunction or Order of Protection, or that you have been wrongly accused or committing an act of violence, please contact us at (941) 893-6400 or contact us online.
We look forward to helping you.
